Sunday Services at Emmanuel

Associate Minister of Emmanuel Church - Aled Seago

Aled joined Emmanuel in 2023, following an incumbency in Dunham Massey. He trained for ministry at Oak Hill college and was ordained in 2018 serving his curacy at St George’s Poynton. He and his wife Jo, a published author, met at university and got married soon after graduation. They own a friendly cross-breed dog called Chewie (as in Star Wars) and are really excited to get stuck in serving alongside the church family here at Emmanuel.

Our Sunday morning service is at 10:00am, from September 2023 services begin at 10:30am unless otherwise stated.

This has both informal and formal style services - with traditional hymns along with contemporary songs. Please feel free to stay for drinks and chat afterwards. We value this conversation time together with its opportunity to deepen friendships. There are crèche room facilities for young ones (with a crèche with helpers on during the Sunday morning services for under 3‘s. This means mums and dads can know young ones are being safely cared for while they are in the service).
Junior Church for 3’s and over runs during the morning service (except for any occasional “All Age” Services where young people stay in for the whole service, and when there is a Family Service). The young people are in for the first few minutes and then go out to activities that help children learn about God’s love (with grown up activities for the youth age range). Once a month we have our special Family Service also at 10:00am which is held in the church. See link for information on special services coming up.

Ongoing small groups at Emmanuel

We have a number of small groups at Emmanuel. Some meet in houses, others in the church building at different times and days throughout the week. All are opportunities to make friends, find fellowship, pray, and learn from God’s word in a relaxed way. This is vital if we are to be a church that grows and cares for each other as best we can. We’d love everyone to be part of a group. If you'd like to join one or simply want to find out a bit more do let us know. We also run one-off small groups including Christianity Explained - a down to earth look at the Christian basics, a bible overview course, and evangelism training.

Prayer Meetings at Emmanuel

At Emmanuel we believe talking to God is really important. It is essential we pray together and we all must give this the priority God demands if we are to be effective.
We also recognise life is busy and not everyone can make one set time, so we have a range of options:
1. Tuesday afternoon. Daytime Fellowship from 2-3pm (with refreshments). Prayer particularly for pastoral needs, on the fourth Tuesday in each month.
2. There is also Morning Prayer on Tuesday to Thursday mornings with Bible study and liturgy (starts at 8:30am for about 15-20 minutes).
We want to be praying together well and often. Come along - be encouraged and encourage others.
